Vienna-Metro-Station-250x250.jpg

Metro has released the list of the most “dangerous” Metro stations out of the 86 total stations on 103 mile of track in the DC area. The majority of the crimes are related to theft of electronics, mostly cell phones. Keep in mind these numbers are skewed since where the crime was reported to police is not necessarily where the crime took place. Some of these take place on the train and end up being reported at a station different from the location of the crime.

  1. Brookland, 44.

  2. Deanwood, 41.

  3. Minnesota Avenue, 40.

  4. Gallery Place, 35.

  5. Rhode Island Avenue, 34.

  6. L’Enfant Plaza, 33.

  7. Capitol Heights, 33.

  8. Benning Road, 30.

  9. West Hyattsville, 28.

  10. Vienna, 28.

Further Breakdown of the top three stations tells me a different story and depends on how one defines “Dangerous”, since in my opinion Minnesota Ave is the worst for violent crimes.....
