Reston

Reston is Virginia's first planned residential community, established in 1964 by Robert Edmund Simon, Jr. Simon's goal was to foster a lifestyle where its citizens could live, work, and play in their own community, with common grounds and scenic beauty in order to build a stronger sense of community ties. Whether you're strolling along the tree-lined pathways, attending a community event, or exploring the surrounding areas, Reston offers a peaceful and fulfilling lifestyle that captures the essence of suburban living while staying connected to the opportunities of a vibrant metropolitan area. As of 2020, the population of Reston is 61,418.

Being just 18 miles outside of Washington, DC, Reston is a commuter's dream, combining an ideal suburban lifestyle with easy access to the city. As of the end of 2022, the Silver Line extended its service, giving Reston two of its own metro stops, Wiehle-Reston East and Reston Town Center. With many large companies like LeidosGeneral DynamicsBechtelRolls-Royce North America, and more calling Reston home, it's not only commuters that experience the perks of living here.

One of the highlights of living in Reston is the abundance of outdoor spaces and recreational amenities. The community boasts an extensive network of trails, parks, and open spaces, making it a paradise for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. If swimming is your forte, there are 15 community pools, each boasting different features. Uplands pool has interactive fountains, a zero-depth children's pool, and a cold water spa. North Shore pool features an ADA hydro-lift chair. Glade Pool has an impressive two-story water slide, in-water benches, a 1-meter diving board, and water play fountains. Whether you want to splash with the kids, swim laps or enjoy some water recreation, Reston has a pool for you.
