The inauguration of 45th President of The United States of America Donald Trump is quickly approaching. As a result Ivanka Trump and husband, whatever his name is, recently purchased a home in Washington DC and they too will be moving in soon! You’d think with the “Trump” way of doing business, a loan would be involved. In my opinion this is the main reason the Trumps will fit right in with the rest of the politicians in Washington… FINANCE IT!

I will gladly pay you Tuesday for a Hamburger today! (Sorry millennials you will have to Google that, it’s an Xgen and baby boomer joke....)

Nope, the Trumps only use credit to run their business, when it comes to personal purchase’s they use cold hard cash. Like any good CEO, get your compensation in cash and strap the business with any debt and if you can’t pay for it, well you can always “restructure” it, bail it out, or bankrupt it!

Ivanka’s new home is located in the exclusive Kalorama neighborhood at 2449 Tracy Pl NW sold in December for $5,500,000, CASH! The Kalorama community dates back to pre Civil War and has been home to 5 Presidents including Taft, Wilson, Harding, Hoover, and FDR. (Also, soon to be a 6th, but you must read on for that fun fact…) Architect Christian Zapatka recently renovated this elegant Waddy Wood 1923 mansion. It is now complete with 6 bedrooms, 6.5 bathrooms, study, 2-car garage, and staff apartment within its expansive 6,870 finished square feet of space. (Expansive as compared to $16,000,000 4,200 sq ft Manhattan digs) It is not clear yet if Ivanka or her husband purchased the home, and it’s even possible a “third party” purchased the home and could then “rent” to them....

The Obama family will be renting 2446 Belmont Rd NW and as you can see by the map below, just around the corner from Ivanka. This will make for interesting neighborhood barbecues! I’d recommend, NOT visiting the neighborhood unless you like being force-fed through a straw for a few months after the secret service get done with you.

The home on Belmont Rd is a prestigious 1928 brick tutor complete with 9 bedrooms, 8.5 bathrooms, 2 car garage with a total of 8,200 finished square ft. The Obamas plan to reside in this home until Sasha finishes school in a few years.

Yes, there is one more soon to be neighbor not to be outdone by anyone, who recently bought the largest home in Washington DC.

In October a 2 Mansion package deal sold to an anonymous buyer in the same prestigious Kalorama neighborhood for $23,000,000. The two Historic Mansions are 2320 and 2330 S St NW. One housed the Textile Museum for 90 years and was designed by the Jefferson Memorial Architect for its original owner George Hewitt Myers. George Hewitt Myers also owned the neighboring Waddy Wood designed Mansion. This massive home currently spans over 27,000 of living space with 11 Bedroom 7 bathrooms and 6 powder rooms. The property is a .78 acre lot with beautiful gardens a separate 2 car garage and chauffer resident. New remodeling plans have been submitted to the city by Barnes Vanze Architects, so no one will be moving in anytime soon!

Who is the new owner you ask.... None other then Amazon Founder Mr Jeff Bezos!
